BEST 4 PRICES ▷ CATARACT IN ISTANBUL AND ANTALYA ▷ COST AND REVIEW
Cataract laser eye surgeries in Turkey typically takes about 30-45 minutes or even less. Since procedure is performed under local anesthesia, the patient remains awake throughout the surgery. The most commonly used technique in Turkish eye hospitals is Phacoemulsification.
Before the surgery begins, eye drops are administered to dilate the pupil. A local anesthetic is then injected into the tissue around the eye. The surgeon makes a small incision in the cornea, through which a tiny probe emitting ultrasound waves is inserted. This probe breaks the cloudy lens into tiny fragments, which are then liquefied and suctioned out. A second probe removes the remaining soft pieces of the lens.
Once the damaged lens is removed, the surgeon implants a small plastic replacement lens. This lens is typically inserted through the corneal incision in a curled-up form using an injector. Once inside the eye, the lens unfolds and naturally settles into the position of the original lens.
There are different types of lenses, which may be applied by the surgeon considering the patients needs and wants. While the focus areas of the lenses increase, the prices of the lenses increase exponentially, increasing the price of the operation accordingly.

How It Works:
Monofocal Lenses -The most used lenses that work well for correcting vision at one distance and glasses will still be necessary to use. The monofocal lenses don’t correct astigmatism as well.
Multifocal Lenses – It did not take long to realize that monofocal lenses did not meet all the needs so multifocal lenses were invented starting with bifocal lenses. Multifocal lenses are mostly suitable for people over the age of 40 and who are affected by presbyopia.
There are different types of multifocal lenses. These type of lenses help improving the distant and near visions. As the improvements in all areas of the world continue, the need for a better multifocal lens emerged. Especially while looking at mid-distances, like looking at a computer, bifocal lenses did not meet the needs. Therefore, trifocal lenses were invented where it was aimed to permanently free patients from glasses. These lenses help improving the vision at all distances – near, intermediate and far. The multifocal lenses are the closest ones to give perfect vision in both eyes.
Toric Contact Lenses – Specially designed lenses that correct astigmatism and differ from normal contact lenses because of its shape and its different power to correct astigmatism.

The cost of Cataract surgery in Istanbul and Antalya ranges from $500- $3,500 USD per eye, depending on the type of surgery, type of intraocular lens (IOL) used. Here’s a general price range:
.
-
Standard Cataract Surgery (Monofocal IOL) Cost: Approximately $500 to $1,200 USD per eye.
.
This is the most basic type of cataract surgery, where cloudy lens is replaced with a monofocal intraocular lens (IOL) to improve vision at a single distance (typically distance vision). Additional charges may apply for pre-surgery tests or follow-up visits.
. -
Premium Cataract Surgery (Multifocal or Toric IOL) Cost: $1,500 to $3,000 USD per eye.
.
This involves the use of advanced intraocular lenses such as multifocal IOLs (which improve vision at multiple distances: near, intermediate, and far) or toric IOLs (for correcting astigmatism). Premium IOLs provide a broader range of vision correction but come at a higher cost.
. -
Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery (Femtosecond Laser) Cost: $1,500 to $3,500 USD per eye.
.
Laser-assisted cataract surgery uses a femtosecond laser for precise incisions, corneal capsulotomy, and lens fragmentation, resulting in a more accurate and potentially quicker recovery compared to traditional methods. This option is often considered for patients looking for a more advanced, highly precise technique.
. - Complex Cataract Surgery (cases of high risk or complications) Cost: Could be higher ranging from $2,000 to $4,000 USD per eye.
.
Some eye patients may need more complex cataract surgery due to underlying conditions (as other eye diseases like glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, or if the cataract is advanced and complicated).

- Glare and Halos: Some patients experience glare or halos around lights, especially at night.
- Vision Problems: There is risk of over or under correction, leading to blurry vision or needing glasses.
- Cystoid Macular Edema: A condition causing swelling in the central part of the retina, affecting vision.
- Secondary Cataracts: In some cases, a membrane behind the new lens can become cloudy, requiring laser treatment.
