TURKEY’S 8 HEALTH TOURISM CENTERS SELECTED
The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced Turkey’s international health tourism centers. The list included Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Antalya, Adana, Mersin, Kayseri and Edirne, while hospitals in Turkey were equipped with advanced technological devices, hospital capacities and medical equipment stood out in tourist destinations.
Health tourism centers, Ministry and Turkey Tourism, Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) carried out international promotional activities, was published in a statement.
ISTANBUL
The city has numerous facilities and infrastructure, including health tourism for health tourism, thermal and spa health, and tourism for the elderly and disabled.
There are 220 hospitals in Istanbul, 141 of which are private, 17 of which are universities, 62 of which are state hospitals. Istanbul also has 4 modern City Hospitals.
All private and public hospitals employ foreign language staff who are knowledgeable about health tourism.
Turkish Airlines has direct flights from all over the world to Istanbul, which gives tourists an advantage.
ANKARA
The capital, Ankara, is known as the capital of politics and welcomes a large number of tourists. The city has remarkable potential with its strong infrastructure, rich minerals, 55 public hospitals and 33 private hospitals. Hot springs provide health tourism opportunities to domestic and foreign tourists all year round.
ANTALYA
In recent years, Antalya has an important position in terms of high capacity of beds and service facilities, well-trained doctors and medical personnel such as Congresses and fairs, but high-quality services come to the fore.
BURSA
Among our cities that play an important role in health tourism and other types of Tourism, Bursa, which has a large number of quality medicinal water sources, ranks first. 15 public hospitals 87 hospitals are among the leading provinces in health tourism in total. Bursa is a tourist city all year round with its hot springs, natural and historical beauties, healing waters preferred by tourists.
ADANA
Adana has many advantages and a strong potential to be a health tourism destination with its long-standing values and existing infrastructure in terms of Medicine.
MERSIN
Mersin is a remarkable meeting point as a modest, affordable and beautiful resort on the southern coast of Turkey, where many historical, religious and cultural heritage of ancient civilizations. The city has great potential for health tourism with its beaches and quality patient beds. City Hospital and private hospitals in the province are doing remarkable work for health tourism.
KAYSERI
Kayseri is located in the center of Turkey in terms of Transportation. Kayseri has been the homeland of many civilizations, full of historical and natural beauty throughout history.
The city has a remarkable infrastructure in terms of Medicine. Gevher Nesibe Medical Faculty and Madrasa, built in 1206, known as the first medical faculty in history, are located in Kayseri.
Kayseri, which protects its medical genes from the past, is an important Medical Center, as it was 800 years ago.
Today, Kayseri has one of the most equipped hospitals in our country, the city hospital with a capacity of 1607 beds and health tourism certified health centers with a capacity of 3748 beds.
EDIRNE
Edirne is an important place for health tourism due to its geographical location. The city has 5 border crossings providing road and rail connections with Europe.
